The Council of the Baptized is holding this hearing to learn about your experiences with the Church’s sexual teachings. Please come to discuss ways in which the official Church leadership does or does not reflect and enhance the sexual realities of your life as a Catholic, and of other Catholics you know.

Council of the Baptized members will be present to listen to your comments, and witness your lived experience. The views expressed will be summarized and may be included in the upcoming position paper,Toward a Theology of Healthy Sexuality.This paper will be shared with the faithful in this Archdiocese as well as our local priests and bishops. In addition, this paper will be a part of an international position paper being prepared for delivery to Pope Francis at the Synod of the Family in October, 2014, in Rome.

Continuing our discussion of Vatican II spirituality on May 8,  Nancy Gotto and Bonnie Strand, Council of the Baptized members, with Catherine Michaud, C.S.J., will be discussing the People of God: Sharing in the roles of Jesus, Priest, Prophet, and King.
