Aquiring a Publication:

To order a print copy of one of the publications shown in the menus that expand to the right, email info@cccr-cob.org with your name and address and the title of the publication(s).  You may print the booklets from this website also. We will be happy if you distribute them freely.

Publications Office:

The Publications Office assigns an editor to work with each Research/Drafting Committee after the Council has approved proposals in principle.  The proponents and Council members on the Research/Drafting Committees recommend a form of publication, number of copies to print, and a distribution list.  The Publication Office reviews the final manuscript and the publication recommendations before they go back to the Council for final approval.

Consultants: Joan Mitchell, Martha Turner, Sheila Laughton

If you are interested in becoming an editor for a Council Research/Drafting Committee, contact Mary Beth Stein at 612-805-7091

Deepening our Vatican II Spirituality

Like many church councils before it, Vatican Council II effected an enormous change in the spiritual identity of Catholics. Still, fifty-six years later, Catholics feel insecure about what the Council has called us to embrace. Questions still nag at us. We are asking, among other things:

  • *How did this enormous change happen?
  • *Why did it happen?
  • *Why, over five decades later, does there seem to be such resistance to this Council?
  • *What exactly does it mean to be a Vatican II Catholic? What is a Vatican II spirituality?
